Academic YearProgram

Our flagship program, the Academic Year Program (AYP), offers Saturday full-day programming for students in grades K-10th. This initiative is designed to build leadership, academic excellence, and social skills in youth through structured mentorship and innovative activities. Our nurturing staff provides guidance, instills discipline, and promotes a supportive environment where participants can thrive academically and socially.

Go Forward to Work Program

Dream North prepares teens for the workforce through the Go Forward to Work Program, a hands-on initiative teaching the fundamentals of employment and self-sufficiency. Students in grades 6-10th are paired with life coaches who guide them in making career choices and achieving their goals. This program fosters real-world readiness, from gaining essential skills to building confidence in the workplace.

    • Career coaching by dedicated mentors
    • Partnerships with local businesses to provide real-world experiences
    • Focus on life skills such as financial literacy and safe decision-making
    • Metrics for success, including high school graduation, acquiring a driver’s license, and job placements

Community Events & Cultural Programs

At Dream North, we celebrate community and culture through events and activities that bring people together. From the Juneteenth BGOSH Celebration to the Martin Luther King Day Breakfast and the Black History Program, we provide opportunities to honor diversity, engage with the community, and create meaningful connections.

  • Signature Events Include:
    • Juneteenth BGOSH: A celebration featuring local vendors, cultural performances, and activities for all ages
    • Martin Luther King Day Breakfast: Keynote speakers, local awards, and a poetry contest for students
    • Black History Program: Toy giveaways, scholarships, and vibrant performances showcasing African American culture
    • Summer Fun Program: Recreational activities like fishing, field trips, and nursing home visits

Go Forward To Work Program

This is an incentive-based program focused on teaching teens the basics of work, employment, and self-sufficiency.

  • Target Group:
    Students in grades 6th-10th.

  • Features:

    • Full-time Life Coach: Members are assigned an adult Member Career Coach (MCC) to help them with career choices.
    • Business Partnership: The work training prepares students for real jobs.
  • Key Metrics:

    6. Short-term and Long-term Goals

Bringing Oshkosh & Fox Valley Together for National Celebration

  • Activities and Features:
    • Local vendors and non-profits as partners
    • Oshkosh School District-High School Student as Juneteenth Princess
    • Share information about Oshkosh 94 and give Lee & Mary Courage Award to an Oshkosh resident
    • Children Activities and Sport Camps
    • Soul Food
    • Entertainment (Live Music, African Dance, Magician)
    • Information about Black Culture and History of Juneteenth

Martin Luther King Day Breakfast

  • Keynote Speaker
  • Local award to volunteer of the year
  • Sponsored by local businesses, schools, churches
  • Poetry contest for Oshkosh Middle School Students

Summer Fun Program

  • Summer program for AYP Students
  • Fishing, academics, recreational activities
  • Field trips (Brewer, Timber Rattlers, Lambeau Field Experience)

Black History Program

  • Toy Giveaway in Honor of Black History Month
  • Annual Scholarship to Oshkosh High School Senior
  • Food Basket Giveaway
  • Teens From Rhythmic Institute perform African Drumming
