How WeStarted

Rodney Bourrage, Sr. founded the original Operation DREAM in 2007 with a powerful purpose: to uplift at-risk Black boys in Milwaukee's urban neighborhoods. Inspired by his decades of service as a teacher, Little League coach, and mentor with organizations like Milwaukee Public Schools, the Boy Scouts of America, and Jewish Day School, Rodney dedicated his life to nurturing potential where others saw obstacles.

What began as a local effort quickly grew beyond expectation. Operation DREAM captured both local and national attention, earning the support of respected institutions including the NBA, Harley-Davidson, the Milwaukee Bucks, Baird, and the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation. Even public figures like Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recognized its impact, helping bring national visibility to the cause.

After retiring to Oshkosh, Rodney saw a new need—a familiar call. He witnessed the same challenges facing youth in his new community, and with that realization, Operation DREAM North was born. A continuation of his legacy, this new chapter carries the same unwavering mission: to empower, inspire, and uplift the next generation.
